On November 11th 2017 I had the honour of photographing an old family friend's daughter in my Home town, Wales. The Wedding of Abi & Dan was in the beautiful setting of St. Fagan’s. The Old Post House was a quaint small and intimate venue just the right size for all of their closest family and friends, some of which I hadn't seen in over 10 years.
From the morning of the wedding I was in awe of all the beautiful decorations that the mother of the bride and family had handmade; everywhere I turned was sentimental photos, quotes and candles all with a special meaning behind each and every one. The wedding really was stunning and from 'Top to Toe' there wasn't an inch of that wedding where thought hadn't gone into it.
Nothing but the best shoes for the bride to be, Vivienne Westwood Melissa heart shoes to be exact and they even smelt like bubble-gum! The champers was flowing, it came complete with lavender sticks and Chambord. I offered to open one bottle for the ladies as they were laughing and getting ready but it's a good job I went to the bathroom to open it as the cork shot out unexpectedly. Whoops! Champaign fountain! I was so relieved there were no dresses around and the bride was as cool a cucumber.
Even outside the church were wedding signs and decorations, they had thought of everything. The children of the bride & groom who definitely stole the show were the best models in town. So eager to get involved in every photo to strike a pose.
Just outside of the venue was the old St. Fagan’s museum complete with an old red telephone box, the bride had already got ideas for photos that she wanted as the Newlyweds which made my job so much easier. After the pics with Mum & Dad the two little ones jumped inside the telephone box, which is by far my favourite picture of all.
I loved being part of this wedding, I had so much fun and was so welcomed by everyone, it really made me feel relaxed and gave me the room to get creative.
Thanks for being lovely and congrats.
