As soon as I met Jo & Kev in Nottingham for a coffee a few months before their wedding I knew they were lovely people, I left feeling really excited and looking forward to photographing their big day.
The day before any wedding I am always checking my list of equipment, ensuring I have everything ready to go, checking my location and maps once again, the thought of getting lost of breaking down on the way to a wedding keep you awake at night. Typical UK roadworks tried to throw everything at me to make me late, closed junctions and traffic jams still didn't stop me and I got there in good time even before the bride was back from her hair appointment. Phew!
As I got to the main reception I was greeted by the lovely groom with a hug like we were old friends. straight away they both made me feel so welcomed. I could see some of the nerves and excitement on the groom's face. He was so eager to see his bride to be.
As I made way upstairs to say hello to Jo and take some 'getting ready' shots which are by far my favourite moments of the day. you can see the nerves kicking in, make up and hair ready, champers is flowing and dress is on, the bride is looking beautiful. once the dress is on is great to have a few 10 mins to get some shots of the bride to be, a chance to also let her compose herself before walking down the isle.
Some of favourite pics of the day are just after Jo & Kev said their vows, you could see how much they loved each other. What a happy day from start to finish. Funny speeches, surprise guitar performances and lovely people. For some reason kids always want to pull funny faces at me but they make great pics.
Thank you and Congrats
