Mr & Mrs. Protheroe

May 10, 2018

Crafts, origami birds, bow ties, Lego, waffles and so much more...

21st April 2018, the wedding of Ieuan & Michaela.  A cool and quirky couple from Wales.

When I met these guys for coffee to talk through wedding plans and ideas we hit it off straight away, listening about all the decorative plans, I just couldn't wait.

This was my first time at Rosedew Farm, I had heard that is was a stunning venue but wondered what all the fuss was about.  I arrived early on the morning of the wedding to have a quick look around, the beauty of being a wedding photographer is that you get to see everything set up so pretty before everyone else arrives. The calm before the wedding madness. I love to see all the pretty details and decorations and of course makes my job so much more fun.

Wow I really get what all the fuss is about! The great hall looked stunning, there wasn't an inch of that place that wasn't carefully thought about, every piece of detail was covered in crafts.

Ieuan and Micheala are illustrators living in London, they brought so much of their personality to the wedding, I felt like I had known them for years. The ceiling was complete with a 1000 hanging origami birds hand made by the groom which must have taken him at least a year to make.

A woodland, enchanted forest theme, Autumn leaves, acorns, a welsh dresser filled with their favourite books and miniature toy characters. The dinning table runner were pages from Roald Dahl books, table numbers were old books and illustrated woodland animals; badgers, deer, fox etc. They had even made their own giant light up letters that comes with a funny story attached, all I'm saying is running for the bus and getting caught in the snow!

After the beautiful ceremony, wedding breakfast and the release of the doves the guys wanted to catch an hour to themselves and take me to one of their favourite views. Michaela had a quick change of shoes to boots so we could walk through the fields and some mud to get to the cliffs. I was so excited to get some pics by the sea before the storm. These guys were cool and calm and up for any ideas.

I had so much fun at this wedding, I felt so welcomed and met some lovely people. Thank you for giving me such a brilliant day, it felt like hanging out with my buddies all day. Loved it!

Here are some of my fave pics of the day

Thank you

Rhi XOXO
